Submission
Participation in the 1st Alpine School on Magnetics is by application. To apply, every prospective participant must submit a poster abstract describing their current research — this abstract forms the basis of the selection process, so applicants are encouraged to present their work clearly and concisely. Each submission should include the poster title, the author and co-authors with affiliations, and an abstract of up to 300 words (a representative figure is welcome but optional).
Please note that all accepted students are expected to present a poster at the school. The poster sessions are a central part of the program, giving every participant the opportunity to share their work, receive feedback, and spark new collaborations within the magnetism community.
The submission site opens on July 24, 2026 and closes on September 25, 2026; notifications of acceptance will be sent by October 9, 2026. We look forward to your contribution.

Costs & Registration
Participation in the 1st Alpine School on Magnetics costs 980 EUR. Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, the fee is deliberately kept low and covers the essentials of your stay:
- Accommodation at the Ski Austria Academy for the entire school (February 15 to 19, 2027) on a full-board basis.
- The full scientific program: hands-on morning sessions, evening lectures, and poster sessions.
- Professional ski guides who accompany participants on the Arlberg slopes each afternoon (note: the guides do not teach absolute beginners; skiers should be able to confidently handle red/intermediate slopes).
Not included: the ski pass and travel to St. Christoph am Arlberg, which must be arranged individually.
Registration is by invitation only: applicants with an accepted abstract receive a personal registration link by e-mail on October 9, 2026, and registration closes on October 30, 2026. The fee is paid online (credit/debit card) upon registration.
Cancellation policy. Cancellations are free of charge until November 1, 2026 (full refund). From November 2 to December 1, 2026, 50% of the fee is refunded. From December 2, 2026, no refund is possible; this also applies in the case of no-show. We therefore recommend taking out a cancellation insurance (see the Venue page).
